How To Make a Coming Soon Baby Reveal Shirt

Gender reveals are a rite of passage for parents-to-be, nowadays. This custom t-shirt design is a great way to announce your good news. Wear it for a photo to send out to everyone, change the color to pink or blue to make it a gender reveal, or just wear it out with friends and see how long it takes them to notice!

 

Level: Beginner

Overview:

In this project, we will create a custom design using Silhouette Studio ® Business Edition, cut the design using Silhouette Cameo 3 ® cutting machine, and heat press the design onto a shirt using the Stahl’s Heat Press.

 

Materials:

Blank T-shirt

Rainbow White Siser Glitter HTV

Equipment:

Silhouette Cameo ® 3

Silhouette Studio ® Business Edition

Magic Weed Edge weeding tool

Stahls Maxx Press

 

Step 1: Copy and paste a heart into the design page. Trace it and enlarge it. Create an offset.

 

Step 2: Copy and paste footprints image into the design page. Trace it, fill it, and move it into the heart.

Step 3: Copy and paste arrows into the design page. Release compound path to isolate the arrow for this design, then trace it, fill it, and move it into the heart.

Step 4: Click the insert text box from the left menu, select any spot and type “coming soon” in Nightcall font.

Step 5: Click knife tool + Shift to cut

 

Step 6: Arrange preferred placement of each component, select all and make a compound path, reverse horizontally and then adjust cut settings, cut and weed design.

Step 7: Heat press design onto shirt approximately 3” down from neckline. Press the Rainbow White Siser Glitter HTV for 10-15 seconds at 320° and hot peel. Check out the TRW easy reference guide for vinyl and rhinestone pressing times and temps.

Cost: $1.80 in glitter vinyl plus the t-shirt

Suggested Retail Price: $20+ ($13-$15 for a one-color glitter vinyl custom design plus the shirt)

Get creative with design placement. Put the heart over ‘your’ heart, in the center of the abdomen, or off to the side of the belly.
