Projects Perfect for the Fall Season

Whether a crafter or business owner, the fall season is one of the busiest times of the year. It also has major project and idea potential. If you’re looking for festive decorations around the home or office or adding to your product list on your Etsy store or upcoming festival, I’ve put together a collection of projects that are quick, simple, popular.

It seems like the fall weather brings out the Betty Crocker in many of us. Adding some vinyl to a cookie or dessert platter is a great way to warm up a boring plate besides just some warm cookies. Susan shows how some FDC vinyl on a thrift store platter can be the perfect addition to a dessert table.

Preserving memories is about more than just snapping pictures. A shadow box can be a great keepsake but also a creative decoration. FDC decal vinyl can be used either on the glass or the paper backing behind the glass. Another option is to use FDC as a stencil and Armour Etch on the glass. Then, simply fill with silk leaves and acorns or some favorite moments from the season.

Once again, there’s just something about fall and food that go so well together. The dining room table seems to be the place we gather with loved ones. I love decorating the table and centerpieces, so I created doilies with fall sayings that I used all season long, not just at Thanksgiving. A pretty font and some glitter heat transfer vinyl in your favorite fall colors make a great addition.

Fall tends to be the time of year we reflect and remember to be thankful. An adorable seasonal decoration that’s great for the home or office throughout the season is pressed wood blocks that have been stained. I used HTV StrickFlock and Magic Foil with the phrases “Give Thanks”. These can be put on a table or desk, in a window, or hung on the wall.

Nearly any item can be turned into a seasonal accessory or decoration with the right colors and patterns. I made a cute canvas tote using maroon glitter HTV and orange Magic Foil by creating patterns of little leaves within an Impact font for added glam.

The options are limitless when it comes to creating fun, warm, and cheerful fall items.
